The most representative wine of the Castello di Poppiano tradition, a selection of "Chianti Colli Fiorentini", Riserva is produced only in the best vintages and is matured in oak casks in the cellar of the Castle and then in bottle before release. A great wine.

Elevation-Exposure: 250-300 m s.l.m.
Sud/Sud-ovest
Soil :  Locally called ''Alberese'', medium textured soil deriving from calcareous conglomerates intermixed with clay, well drained.
Training System :  Cordon trained, short spur pruned.
Vines per Hectare  :  5300
Grape Varieties :  Sangiovese 90%, Colorino, Cabernet Sauvignon e Merlot 10%.
Harvest :  Depending on the different grape verieties from September 15th through October 15th.
Wine Making :  In vats at a controlled temperature of 27-28°C (81-82°F) and 18 days maceration.
Maturing :  In vats, then matured in large oak casks according to the Chianti tradition for 15 to 18 months; at least 3 months in the bottle.
Tasting Notes :  Color: dark ruby with slightly garnet hues.
Nose: complex aromatic impact: leather opens to ripe fruit aromas followed by dark undergrowth fruit notes.
Taste: full bodied with noticeable tannins, intense but subtle texture, well harmonized with a well tempered alcohol. Pleasant, full, long and balanced finish.
